By recognizing and valuing different perspectives, characteristics, experiences, and attributes, the Center for Diversity & Inclusion and the Office for Women’s Careers creates and supports an atmosphere of cultural awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging where every person thrives.

Priorities and goals:

• Advocate for the active and transparent recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and trainees
• Continually strive to create a welcoming and engaging environment that allows for meaningful connections
• Provide professional development and leadership support for faculty and trainees who have been historically excluded from medicine

Some of the things we do:

• Create networking and community building opportunities through our DEIB House Staff Council
• Organize lectures, luncheons and other events
  
• Support diverse faculty for academic promotion
• Assist with general career development and advancement
• Serve as consultants to academic departments on Diversity & Inclusion
• Sponsor awards, including the Minority Faculty Career Development Award (MFCDA) and Family Care Travel Award (FCTA)
  
• Sponsor summer training and research programs, including the Four Directions and BWH Stars programs
  
• The CDI also houses the Office for Women’s Careers
